Question:
Someone here posted a while back about their daughter getting laser hair
removal done. I was curious how it was going for her, is it working well?
Answer:
-I'm not Audrey (it was her daughter who had some laser hair removal done) but I
am a nurse pracittioner and I actually provide this service in collaboration
with a wonderful physician. We use an alexandrite laser and we can typically
get an 80% permanent hair reduction with a series of treatments (price and
number vary with the area being treated). It can be spendy but people who have
had it have been extremely pleased overall with the results. -And for some there's the other side of life. I had about six laser
sessions here in the UK and was delighted with the effect ........
until some eight months elapsed and the hairs returned, slowly at
first but in the end I'd guess most came back at or around their
original strength.
So now it's the needle which is slow, costly but effective and that's
the acid test as far as I'm concerned.
I know one girl whose laser treatment is still fine after two years or
more and another who's having the same difficulty that I have.
Whether it's a function of the practitioner, the laser or the client
I've no idea but it seems to me to be a lottery.
