I'm thinking of trying electrolysis at home on my nec area only leaving the face up to a professional

Question:
I'm thinking of trying electrolysis at home on my nec area only leaving the face up to a professional. Anyone have any success with home electro? Any tips or advice or recommendations for the best home unit please share...

Answer:
-There has never been any "over the counter" home electrolysis unit that has ever proven effective. They simply don't work. In three months, maybe two - all the original hair will be back again. -I removed my entire beard myself before I transitioned, back in the early seventies. It worked very well and probably cost about $100. I never had beard hair on my neck. If *I* had neck hair, I'd have probably used a professional for that. It's hard to reach and position the needle. It's *much* easier to position the needle on your face if you use a lighted magnifying make-up mirror. (So I'd say your choice of doing your own neck and having a pro do your face is probably backwards.) Andrea James has some web pages about do-it-yourself electrolysis. She's a lot more negative about it than I am. It worked well for me and I have *zero* scarring. No pro could have done a better job (as a couple of pros who examined my face under magnification had to admit). And I had a friend who followed my example and removed hers successfully, too. I have a net friend who hasn't had good luck doing hers. So it seems to depend upon your skin type, skill, patience, discipline, etc. and these can be quite variable. But remember that electrolysis results, even from very good pros, can vary a lot from patient to patient.
