Question:
i have srs comming up, and need to consider if its worth having the area
cleared of hair by laser.
My surgon Mike Royle seems to think its not worth doing, and people i've
talked to about this, who are Royle supporters just quote him.
However a large number of websites seem to quote a number of other
surgons who say its compulsary, or just a bloody good idea.
It is expensive, and must be increadibly painfull, and i dont even know
if it works. I don't know if i am a sutable candidate, or if i have *SO*
much hair, that its more important for me then most.
And i don't know the shape i should have cleared. Knowing this will of
coure vary my idea of how much i need it.
Can anyone enlighten me?
Answer:
Here in the US, Schrang suggests his patients should be cleared a full inch
all the way around the scrotum and penis; that's (I say from experience) way
too much and results in too little pubic hair. But I think it is worthwhile
having just the penis and scrotum cleared as this skin will end up inside
you, difficult/impossible to clear later. You do not, after all, want a
fur-lined box! But I suggest you stick with conventional electrolysis.
Laser is still an unproven technique, probably only temporary and definitely
not -- despite the claims -- a painless alternative. If the pain is a
barrier, seek out someone to numb the area with lidocaine injections (as
they do at E2000.)
As you lay out your plans, bear in mind that follicles can only be killed
when they're actually growing and that the growth cycles are such that
you'll need to allow a full year to finish clearing the South Pole.
