As a specialist in laser-medicine, I can share with you that this is an
area which is hotly pursued by medical laser companies. There are
companies such as Thermolase and Palomar which are developing products for
hair removal. The problem, though, is that there is not enough follow-up
data to ensure that the procedure has a long-term effect; i.e., the hair
removal may not be permanent. I suspect, though, that within the next
year or so, you will hear of many new developments for this application.
I am also affiliated with a research team which is developing a new
