Question:
last week I came across an ad in the paper on laser hair removal. It said
that it worked best on thick coarse black hair (which I have) and the
results are permanent.
THis sounds like a dream to me, and I have made an appointment for thursday
but I am too afraid to get my hopes up. Has anyone tried this? Is it really
permanent? Was there result? what was it like? Was it painful?
Answer:
-I know of people who tried it and the hair has grown back. I talked to my
doctor about this procedure and he told me that the hair that grows back iis
not the old hair, but instead it's just new hair that is coming in. He also
told me that the way to do it is to get the new hair growth under control
first, and then to try the laser removal. It's not the best procedure for
people who scar easily (like myself). I don't know what's worse, having to
shave the hair off or having a scar.... -I'm going through laser right now and I wouldn't go back for anything....
It has really made a difference. The laser I'm using is GentleLase. Just
remember to treat your hormonal disorder too or you may not get the results
you're looking for.
Here is a link to a hair removal message board. They talk a lot about laser
hair removal and sometimes about PCOS.
