Question:
but i was just wondering if anyone here had any experience with laser hair
removal. it's hard to get any decent info or reports on what works and
what doesn't.
Answer:
-I have. Alexandrite laser works well on my beard so far (6 sessions, 75 % of
beard gone, and I had a really coarse one). Note that it works only on dark
hair with light coloured skin (the laser beam needs contrast to work), and
not on white or grey hair at all (the beam just goes through it without
reaching the bulb).
-the news on television says it works, but I have a friend that spent
over $1000 dollars getting hair removed by laser and it basically all
grew back. Not only that, but he has pretty dark skin and because of
that, the area he had done was all scabs after the procedure, because,
I think the laser burns darker skin for some reason. So, from what
I've seen, I'd say it's a bad idea and a waste of money. I've used
Nad's before and I think it's pretty good. It's easy and cheap, but
it's not permanent.
