Question:
Well, I've tried three times to have electrolysis done (blend) and it was
too painful. The first time was with no anesthetic, the second with emla
(no help) and today I went to a dermatologist and he injected me with
xylocaine and not only did the injections hurt, but they didn't help
either.
Answer:
-Electrolysis shouldn't be that painful. There is a chance that your
electrolygist either is using too high a setting, or is not doing
their insertions correctly. You may want to ask around and prehaps try
another operator to see if you have less trouble with them. In most
states there isn't any licensing requirements and training varies from
a day or two for beauty school graduates to hundreds of hours for some
electrolysis schools. -Skin sensitivity varies from person to person. In my case the blend
method was too painful at first, so my electrologist started off with
thermolysis (less painful but lower kill rate.) After a few months I
could tolerate blend so we changed to the blend method and I had much
less trouble.
