Question:
Im going to be starting electrolysis on Saturday : It's going to cost
me $45 an hour. I knew it would be expensive but sheeesh! Probably one
of, if not the most expensive parts of transition. I do not have a
whole lot of options on places to go where I live, but the lady I talked
to on the phone said they had experience in removing male beards. Can't
wait til I do not have to mess with shaving this thing every morning and
having much nicer softer skin, totally cool.
So anyway, I was wondering how long it may be before I can have the
whole thing removed in one sitting and maybe have to go in less
frequently? Im planning on going an hour every week, depending on how
my skin reacts maybe more. My beard, I assume, is probably about your
average thickness.
Annnndd, body hair. I do not know exactly what to expect yet with the
effects of hrt on body hair. I have been taking spironolactone for six
months now, and have noticed it decreasing and thinning a bit. Will it
knock it out completely? I know it's working. I shaved my arms over
two months ago, which were pretty hairy, and it has hardly grew back.
The hair that has grown back is very fine, short and blonde. Good sign
yes? Itsa gonna be kinda hard to explain this one to folks with summer
coming and I can't cover em up with long sleeves any longer
Slowly Im progressing more n' more....arntcha proud of me...hyuk hyuk.
I have come a long way I think, since I first posted here last summer.
Things are really starting to move for me now
Answer:
Having soft skin on you face *is* "totally cool". And when you date it's
*really* important, too. You really don't want a lover to feel beard
stubble when he takes your face in his hands to give you a kiss. It kind of
spoils the moment. And to lather and shave your face when you otherwise
have lived as a woman must be a real emotional pain. One of the best things
I
did was to remove my beard first. It made everything else much easier.
And it doesn't necessarily *have* to be expensive. I removed my own. It
cost me maybe $100 back in the seventies. Do-it-yourself electro isn't for
everyone, but for some it can be a good option. My comments about doing it
yourself are on Andreas corresponding pages:
