Hourly Cost of Electrolysis

Question:
I just got an initial electrolysis treatment and was wondering if the place I went to had reasonable prices compared to other places. What is the typical charge for electrolysis? Like hourly rate etc. The place I went to was located in Boston, USA. They've been in business over 20 years, and have a nice office, and several electrolysis related accreditations etc.

Answer:
-I had some electrolysis in 1982 and had it removed in 2000-2001, so I'm not the walrus anymore. My electrolysis charged 70 dollars an hour, and gave a discount of 65 to clients with long hours. How ironic that it was a "Kennedy" that removed it. If you shop around you can get a better good deal than I got I suppose, just make sure the person is competent and licensed and all. It will be the best money you ever spent. You can always go to E2000, too, somewhere over the rainbow in the land of Oz -You can find more information on the TSRoadmap website about electrolysis; http://www.tsroadmap.com/physical/hair/zapcost.html It includes suggestions to reduce costs. Two things to consider. You might need 250-300 hours of electrolysis to clear the face. At $90 an hour that could cost $21,000 to $25,000. Ouch!!!! Ask the electrology place if you can get a volume discount for buying a block of 25 or 50 hours at a time or pay one lower price for the complete job. You are not a GG with a few mustache hairs to remove. You require hundreds of hours of hair removal. The benefit to them is they can schedule you on a regular basis for a steady income. Another consideration might be to use Electrology 2000. It is in Texas and used by many TS. Costs about $1100 a day. They use a team of electrologists two at a time. They can clear the complete face the first time in 3-4 days. A second clearing that takes less time a few months later and then the follow up to clear the strays a few months after that. Even with airfare and hotels it would save you a third or more of what you seem to be prepared to pay. Instead of a couple hours a week for years you would only have 4-6 sessions to clear your whole face. http://www.electrology2000.com/ I am one of those who succeeded at the most frugal option. I used an Inverness One Touch to remove my own whiskers at home. Works great. Total cost to remove my entire beard was under $75. I did it while sitting at the computer. It is slow, takes about 1 minute per hair. But it was time I would have been sitting at the computer anyway. Maybe it is not all that slow after factoring in travel time to and from the electrologists, sitting in waiting rooms. FWIW there is a reason people will spend $12,000+ when they could do it for under $100. Do It Yourself electrolysis sucks. But it does work if you are motivated enough to do it.
